Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup Introduction

Thanks to hermitrob for the heads up on the Hemming's article. This answered several questions. The truck I am working on has the grained roof, not metal, and the indented firewall. According to the...

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup Introduction

Thanks to all for your help on the wide bed introduction. All makes good sense!

However, the striping research leaves a few questions. I have a copy of the Model A Ford Paint and Finish Guide...

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup Cowl band

I didn't think to look at judging standards. So many updates I stopped getting the new ones. Mine are dated 1989, but sure enough page 15-1 says the cowl band was painted body color! Thanks again. ...

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup Cowl band

Thanks for the tip to test fit, typical repro! Logically, I think body color makes the most sense. The commercials bodies were made more for utility than beauty. It is probably more likely that they...

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup Cowl band

You could be correct? Will be interesting to see what others say. Hard to tell from pictures on the internet. Most of the ones restored are done more by "owners choice" than by originality. Why do it...

Re: Tires

WOW! A 1930 Town Car. RARE BIRD! I prefer to keep them original. A Model A was never meant to drive and ride like an Eldorado.

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup - Rear Fenders

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup - Headliner?

I assume the steel top cab is totally steel and did not have the grained material from the visor back to the rear panel. This body does not have a totally steel roof. My knowledge is mostly in the...

Re: 1931 Wide Bed Pickup - Headliner?

Ah, Ah! So there is a trim panel that goes above the door and down the door post. But there is nothing that goes above the seat backrest or that covers the inside of the curved metal roof side...

1934 Ford 3 Window Coupe Interior
