Small world - I am good friends with someone from Jaipur who is related to these guys. I remember her showing me a photo of this phaeton. Yes, amazing work from what that car started out as! She...

Re: Snow bird conversion at Iola WI car show

I looked at your pictures, that is really neat! I gotta say, those snow pictures look awfully nice compared to the 90 and humid weather we're having now :)

I went to the Iola, WI car show/swap meet (large event if you aren't familiar with it) on Saturday. Someone brought a Model A fitted with a "Snow Bird" conversion kit installed. Very interesting, I...

Re: Newbie E-brake question

I have the exact same problem - I can click mine all the way but the car still rolls. I'm hoping someone can explain how to fix or how to adjust!

Re: Front spring replacement advice - updated

Yes, they are gas charged since that is all I could find. I've heard that some people recommend non-gas charged, but I can't see that anyone makes or sells those anymore??

I thought I would follow up to let everyone know that I have the new spring in, new shackles and bushings, and new shocks on, and it rides MUCH better than before!! I will attach a few pictures. A...

Re: Whos going to IOLA 2018?

I'm in southern WI and am thinking about going Saturday but it may be a "game day decision" :). I don't have any reason to go except to wander around looking at stuff which I guess is what makes it...

Re: Front spring replacement advice

I'll see what the perches look like after I get things apart. If I have to replace the perches, this will be a lot bigger project than I bargained for!

Re: Front spring replacement advice

Thanks for all of the replies. This forum is the best! I'll start ordering some stuff and will try to remember to post back when done (could be a month or so before I get parts and get around to...

Question Front spring replacement advice

My Model A is in great shape overall, but it rides very rough. By that I mean every bump in the road makes a bang sound and I can almost feel it in the steering wheel. Granted, this is my first...

Re: Radiator Replacement

I just replaced my old leaky radiator last weekend. I got a Berg's radiator based on a search of posts from this site which all seemed to have good things to say about Berg's. It fits perfect and...

Re: Quick question, winter ops

I start mine and let it run at a fast idle every couple weeks for 15 minutes or so and drive it up and down the driveway to get the brakes and gears moving a little. Is this necessary? No. Is it...

Re: 1931 Tudor. Carburetor adjusting rod not turning

The GAV on my '30 is really, really hard to turn. It is so tight that I swore it was fully closed all summer (while also trying to figure out why the car was running way too rich), but eventually I...

Re: How fast in 2nd gear?

Wow, I need to figure out what my rear gear ratio is. Were there different options for 1930?
My car revs so high it sounds like it's going to blow up if I go faster than 20-25 in second or 40-45...

Re: Back in an A (and the long story behind it)

Wow, that is nice too! I think it is amazing how there are Ford Barn members from all around the world. Do you see many Model A's in Bavaria, or is yours really unusual?

Re: Back in an A (and the long story behind it)

Nice car - looks like a twin of mine except mine has 4 doors :)
I love the color combo with the black wheels.

Re: About gas filler screens

Thanks much for the info. Mine would have been the tab kind. Apparently the repro's (Sndyers/ Mike's) don't have the tabs attached - so how would this be installed now if I were to buy one?

Re: About gas filler screens

Newbie questions - I've only had my A since May. What does this screen look like and how do I know if I have one?? I don't see anything when I look into the tank.
I haven't even taken my car to...
