Without jacks both front and rear a 4 poster is just for oil changes and extra parking space. Also safer on the floor no torsion and faster to get on and ready to lift.

I think that the body manufacturing companies had their own number system separate from Ford sales numbers. Next question is was Briggs different from Murray and the commercial station wagons?

Air vent at L.H. kick panel and a different interior trim panel that crosses from side to side above instrument panel. Wood behind the trim is also different.

Be advised that some B cranks have counter weights that over-lap the journal. They must be removed before grinding. When you call shops, you should be able to tell them what you have.

Surfacing the head is usually less than .006-.008. Will not have much or any affect on setting valve lash. If there are problems with valve to head, it will be because some clown surfaced the snot...

I think that you'd be lucky to find a reflector that no one has ever touched before you got there. The coatings are thin and won't stand any abrasive, or even a finger print.

Get an old motor manual for info on compression testing. cylinder leakage test, and shorting out cylinders while running. No way around not having compression. Must find out where, how much and why....

I'll deal with only one item. The ring gear needs the rounded side of the teeth at the rear as it sits in the chassis. When you remove the starter the bendix goes past the ring gear and comes forward...
