If one is indeed a Ford-O-Matic starter it will have a longer shaft and different bendix and tooth count. It would be preferred for the automatic.

Every stock Ford filter I have seen has the two holes in the center tube and perhaps some early as well as aftermarket filters did not.

As I recall, on an original top, undo any snaps or attachments each side of the rear lower portion of the roof.
Sitting inside the car disconnect the front latches and push up and towards the rear...

You will probably have to adjust the assembly to remove cable slack at these points without putting drag on the brakes.

Sounds simple to me, it's just treating the lighter socket as a stand alone circuit. Not connected to chassis. With it's own fuse. And if you want to turn off with ign., add a relay switch.

Idler arm assy consists of (2) nut/bolts and idler arm.
Never heard of "bushings" in idler arm assy.

It's an added cost but a 'bump steer' eliminator kit has adjustment to the drag link as well as the tie rods.
Made a big difference in steering wheel feedback from the road on mine.

My self adjusters are installed on a '51 Merc on which the brakes are virtually identical to F100 brakes.

The rear Bendix drum brakes also self adjust, so in that factor they are equal.

Don,t remember but it was equivalent to this one on EBAY (but for Mercury).

You would also have to acquire a disc/drum master and booster (if wanted)
Also residual valve/s and proportioning...
