I carefully cut through the wall with a hacksaw blade. It's easy going cutting bronze. Then use a punch to break it apart.

The felt seals should be rectangular not square. The narrowest width should fit into the clam shell slots with a little help.

Try#2 response or remove the starter and clean the brushes, brush holders and commutator oil the two bushing and put it back together. Test starter before installing, should spin up to 2000-3000 rpm...

First 6 ohms is too high, are you sure they are 6 ohms? You should use two 1 ohm resistors, one for the right side and one for the left. Best if they are installed in the wires going to the front...

Hi Bob, I too have some worn shocks, in my case pitted. Can you post your reason for plugging the lower bypass hole in the rotor? I, and I think others would be interested in you logic on this!

I have repaired both of these carburetors. Most main jets and the ones that vendors sell have 3 holes on side of the jet. I have 2 jets with only 2 holes on the side.
