Should there be an "O" ring or gasket installed on the oil pump where it attaches to the block of a 36 flathead? There is a circular indentation on the oil pump shaft where it slides into the block...

1936 Oil Pressure Relief Spring

Should there be a washer on the bolt/nut holding the oil pressure relief valve and spring in position on a 1936 coupe flathead? There was no washer when it was removed.

The head is cast with 68-6050B stamped on it, I don't know the type of piston.

I do have about a 6 foot strip of the u-channel as well. So is this u-channel only used in the upper back corner of the door, nowhere else?
