I have had problems with some repo distributor bodies. When you put them on and clamp them with the top plate. It pushes down on the bottom plate advance, retard arm which them causes the point open...

Did you put a gasket between belhousingand engine. If not the will leak there. Also check for a cracked belhousing.

If you have certain later ford drums with your hydraulic brakes you might need spacers behind your wheels, unless the adapters you mention are these spacers.

It's not usually the tire that's blows out but the tube inside. I would dismount the tires and check the tubes.

If it is crack into the exhaust valves you won't see it in the oil, but you should see a white exhaust from your tailpipe if you run antifreeze in your cooling system.

I bought Scotty's last engine he rebuilt. He was one of the best. You have a fine engine there. I have not found a stock rebuild to match the one Scotty done.

Sometimes the cable inside the pop out will crack and expose the wire. When you force the spring in at the end by the distributor, the wire will short out against the pop out cable housing

The B on the dash indicates it was made from brass. You will need to verify the length is correct for your car. They differ for different years.

If you want a switch that is identical to the replacement found in the 30's. Briggs and Stratton makes an alarm switch. Also the 8n tractor switch is the same. These are available from Dennis...
