Re: Bill Stipe Houdaille shocks
He shouldn’t be a mystery to contact. He turned the business over to a son, and I believe Bill has stepped in to help. It’s also been said they’re in a long process to move the business to Kentucky. ...

Re: "Special" Intake Manifold?
It looks aftermarket for an A.
B manifolds used in 32-34 are distinctly different as shown in the pictures posted by Randy. There are different versions of the B manifold, but this isn't one of...

Re: '31 pickup rear fender filler panels
Don't forget to add the fender mounting carriage bolts to the filler strip before you rivet them to the bed. They don't fit once it's on, so which would require use of the undersized bolt.

Re: Vacuum advance dist. for Model A
Briefly, the #3 cylinder on a VW is like the #4 cylinder on an A. It's out of the way and doesn't get as much cooling as the other cylinders do. The #3 in a VW is the forward most cylinder due to...

Re: Vacuum advance dist. for Model A
That’s not correct. The Bosch 010 distributor was a VW bus distributor used only one year, and used in industrial applications for years after that. The Bosch 009 distributor was a two year VW bug...

Re: Vacuum advance dist. for Model A
Most modern carbs are designed for the distributor type they came with. For example, VW's run a variety of Solex carbs. The most popular Solex 34 PICT-3 is designed to run with the aluminum bodied...

Re: Vacuum advance dist. for Model A
I wouldn’t bring the 009 into this discussion. It’s a centrifugal advance distributor but needs a carb that is properly matched. 009’s are very particular.
Most carburetors are designed for...

Re: New Ahooga Horns from Suppliers
I doubt it. I have the capability to fully restore horns. I'm not sure I could do it for less than the $325 cost of a new horn.
Purchasing the "core" horn, parts needed to restore the horn...
