LEDs can be voltage and polarity specific - or not... depends on how they were made - i.e. what circuitry is included.

For example - there are LED 7" round headlights that are neg ground only and...

I was also going to suggest mount black side out, but to use black leather dye on the whitewalls that will be pointing in...

I used black leather dye (not polish) on my very faded running board...

Thanks for the response - if an alternator is needed, then this won't benefit my situation. Running a generator with voltage regulator and not looking to change that.
