Re: Improved car wheel color advice

Avoid whitewalls and the straw wheels will look good, but whitewalls on straw wheels would definitely be a bit gaudy.

Whitewalls on black wheels are a good look to my eye, but they don't say...

Re: Improved car wheel color advice

Kinda reminds me of the Chicle Drab/Copra Drab Model A paint scheme, which I think came with either black or Straw wheels. Either would look nice, IMO.

Attn: Wick

Wick, I just tried to send you a PM about the '24 touring you have for sale in the classifieds (https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279802). Unfortunately, the board software informs me...

1952 accessory side trim?

I ran across this car at the cruise-in before the Hemmings Motor News Concours D'Elegance. It caught my eye because of the non-standard side trim for a '52, which I found very attractive.

Re: 30-31 pickup beds

On a related note, can anyone say what the original wood species was on a standard ‘31 bed and how it was finished? I’m thinking it was likely painted oak, but I’d like to know for certain.

Re: U-bolt Applications

Well, geez, what's the fun in that?

Hmm, I don't have the wagon pieces, so I guess the Falcon... but they probably won't have the spacing correct for the larger u-bolts.

Re: "WSJ" article "Henry Ford's Experiment to Build a Better Worker"

Thanks!

I just stuck in a bid on a '26 63 pager on eBay. I'll keep my eyes open for a '24 147 pager. I'm not usually keen to spend big money on books (I can't even bring myself to pop $50 for a...

Re: U-bolt Applications

Maybe I shouldn't say this here but... It's going on Falcon springs.

Bruce: Is this (http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18479) the book I should be looking for?

Re: U-bolt Applications

Thanks guys. Sounds like the T-bird u-bolts might be the ticket. If they're too long, maybe I'll experiment with lowering blocks - the rear would look good with an inch or two of drop.

Re: U-bolt Applications

For the record, I realize the '56 wagon uses a Dana 44 and the '57 cars use the 9-inch; but the crossover between the '55-'56 and '57 Thunderbirds makes me think dimensionally the axle tubes are the...

U-bolt Applications

I’m trying to figure out what u-bolts to use on a ‘56 Ford station wagon rear axle. Nobody seems to list one, but I’m trying to make an educated guess based on the following information from MAC's...

Re: "WSJ" article "Henry Ford's Experiment to Build a Better Worker"

Great thread. I've long been personally fascinated by Ford, the transcendentalist of the industrial age.

I'd love to read some of the materials Bruce Lancaster referenced. And Joe K's comments...

Re: How to keep a 1962 title?

A friend just went through this process in Michigan - they voided his vintage title and issued him a new one. No idea whether they'll do that in Illinois, though.

Re: 1952 Fordomatic rear-end ratio?

Well, that would be even better.

I wonder where I got 3.73?

Was there originally a tag with a code or some other way to tell without counting teeth or turns?

1942-47 Ford "Jailbar" truck assembly diagrams?

I have a friend who recently purchased a '45 (yep, '45) Ford farm truck as a project. He is in the dis-assembly phase at the moment but isn't exactly sure how to get everything apart. Is there an...
