Woodie Guy, Would suggest just go buy a battery tester that will put a load on it.If by chance you have a Habour Frt in area, they cost about 25 smackers. I find it a good investment.

Mikko, Check out Ebay !They have an original 1935 tudor flat back you might be able to purchase for less than 10 grand. Looks to be a good car.

Mechanical brakes not a bad way to go.Youll likely have to put new spindles on chassis.Suggest get model A parts catalogue.
