Re: ModelA Times
If you have trouble with an electronic ignition out on the road there is no fixing it. With a points system you can 9 times out of 10 fix it on the road.

Re: Tow in Alignment
I have a lot of years on you and I am feeling young. No problem measuring the track. If no one has done it by morning I will do it for you.

Re: tires for 1935 16" wheels
I am using Bridgestone 195x80-16 on my 28 Tudor. They are made for electric cars so have a little stiffer side wall and they roll really easily. Be aware that you are lowering your gearing some so...

Re: throw-out bearing
Can you still get a throwout bearing with a grease zerk on it. One shot every 500 miles it would probably last forever.

Re: throw-out bearing
What drives me crazy are the people who sit at a red light for 5 minutes with their big foot on the clutch pedal. Of course in a car you can't really tell but I see guys on motorcycles all the time...

Re: Brake Conversion? Or not.
My vote is don't do it. Mechanical brakes PROPERLY RESTORED will stop the car just as quick as hydraulic. The skinny tires are the limiting factor. Hydraulics won't help that.

Re: Car Will Not Start--No Apparent Spark
Maybe that popsicle stick has some metal in it. Just for fun try putting a piece of paper between the points and see if that makes no voltage at the stationary point. I understand your not wanting to...

Re: Car Will Not Start--No Apparent Spark
The fuse holder looks normal in your picture but you said
"With the ignition switch on (popped out) and the fuse removed, I get 6 volts to flywheel side of fuse holder and 0 volts to the radiator...

Re: Car Will Not Start--No Apparent Spark
Are you getting 6 volts on both sides of the points with the points open. If so that is really weird. It could be that the end of the pigtail wire is grounding out on the upper plate and at the same...

Re: Car Will Not Start--No Apparent Spark
With the points open if you have power to the movable point arm you electrical system is good up to that point. The problem is that the juice is not going through the points to ground. Either your...

Re: Rim spreader tools
I'm not sure what you are asking but Ford Model A wheels in 1928 and 1929 were 21 inches.

Re: Ignition timing question
There should be a 40* range between full retard and full advance. I set mine from 10* ATDC to 30* BTDC. I agree 40* BTDC is way too much.
