Capacitors go bad over a period of time, you’ll also need an antenna hooked up. Back in the day you could go to a drug store and test the vacuum tubes yourself. Do you have a schematic of the radio?

I’m with Rick, I have a spring loaded toggle switch under the dash and I hold it on until I hear the pump noise change. Previous owner installed the electric setup.

Posted a couple of days ago, some of the footage seems later than 1932.
I did get to see engine no. 1 at the Henry Ford museum about 5 years ago.
