The serial number boss on the new Burtz engine is not stamped. This allows the purchaser to use original font stamps that pass blue point judging and any DMV.

My 1947 Federal Mogul catalog shows that 1918 Caterpillar tractors used them.
Chevrolet used them for main bearings in 1929....
