I misread your original post, I see you said he change the oil not the pan gasket. I see something the red arrow is pointing to, looks strange. Are the springs missing, looks like it.

Maybe the oil return pipe was missing or fell off when he had the pan off.
Also what's going on with the radius rod socket?

When it quits do you have a good spark from the coil wire to ground. The
spark should jump over a 1/4".

Do you have the part of the rear support on the transmission?
The rear support part number is BB-5089. There is a NOS on Epay right now,
doesn't get any better than that. ...
