You didn’t say what part of the country your in, but between eBay and swap meets I’ve try to collect parts that are not reproduced anymore.

I found a trusted family owned garage within walking distance of my house, they do the oil changes and mandatory NYS safety inspections, the rest of the work I do myself.

Capacitors go bad over a period of time, you’ll also need an antenna hooked up. Back in the day you could go to a drug store and test the vacuum tubes yourself. Do you have a schematic of the radio?

I’m with Rick, I have a spring loaded toggle switch under the dash and I hold it on until I hear the pump noise change. Previous owner installed the electric setup.
