Re: can you unchop a top?

Look around and find one that is to far gone and use the roof. Or find some pieces from a chop. It will be real tough to fix it. Find something like this or...

Re: 1929 Business Coupe w/ Opera Windows

You would have to really want the car to restore it. If it has some sentimental I would understand. Find someone trustworthy to take a look at it. And let them handle selling it. When it comes to...

Re: What's the value of a 1928 Model A AR/E28?

Estimated value is just that. When it comes down to it. It's what ever someone will give for it.

Re: powder coating - did not turn out well, could use some thoughts

I have a friend that does powder coating. He said sometime something comes in and is pretty rusty like wheels. Instead of blasting he dips them and converts the rust. And then coats them. He said...

Re: Van Norman Mill

We have three Bridgports. And they don't work that well for a engine block. Mainly because they don't have enough travel. And on a Model A block. Would not go the whole depth of the cylinder. We have...

Re: Install a V8 Into a Model A

I think Reds sells some headers that fit pretty good. Reversing the firewall will gain you a few inches. But that's just on a 30-31. But I allso think by doing that you loose the room for the factory...

Re: Center hood hinge cracks - pics

With stuff like that. I like to use my torch and fuse them together. It requires very little heat. Just do a little at a time. And use your hammer and Dolly.

Re: Citric acid rust remover

The inside is perfect. The outside is rusty because it sat unpaired for 30 years. There have been plenty of engines that have had rusty outsides run just fine.

Re: Citric acid rust remover

Would it be better to just do the outside of the block with easy off? The inside is real clean.

Citric acid rust remover

Citric acid works well at removing rust. I have a engine that was rebuilt and then left to sit in a shop. It was never painted. So the block and pan and stuff are rusty. Will the citric acid hurt the...

Re: Possible rust remover for gas tank

I've used the etch and prep many times. Not on gas tanks. But lots of other parts. Works great. I wonder how the eloctrolosis would do on a block. Would it hurt the babbit?

Re: Install a V8 Into a Model A

Yeah 59a sorry. Been a crappy morning. Some jack ass backed into my wife's car at the store this morning. And did not feel the need to stick around. Still mad about it.

Re: Install a V8 Into a Model A

You can make a 8ba fit. It's two inches longer than a 59a. I've seen them in tons of A's. But things were changed to the car or the engine to get them in.

Re: Install a V8 Into a Model A

The only flathead that I know of. That does not fit is the 8ba. But can make it fit with a 85a cam truck pumps and crab style distributer. If using a 32 k member. You can use 34 style wishbones. And...

Re: Car title value.

Odds are the title is not from that car. I remember my grandfather would buy old titles. And restamp frames. No one cared anything about it then. As long as they got their money for your tags. Some...

Re: Tudor vs coupe-$$$

30-31 Tudor with a wedge chop on 32 rails. Is a very good looking hot rod. Plenty of old bodies out there to use to.
