Re: Brake Adjustment - Confusion

I think it's simple. Been working on this stuff for 60 years, born a dealership.

Re: Late 31 rear axle cotter pin question

if the cotter is too long, just snip it off.

I think 125 # is too much. 80-90# is fine, then tighten until the cotter drops in which will be around the 100# range. The tapers should be clean and...

Re: ...what is wrong with my sockets?

It might need a ground wire soldered right from the socket rather than the spring.

Re: One good reason for turn signals

I adapted an extra tail light to a third stop light and leather strapped it on the spare tire. With LEDs these 3 lights are bright.

Re: One good reason for turn signals

So, the Parks, Cowls and Brake lights became LED Turns.

Re: Can’t get speedometer cable back in housing.

The 'kink' in the cable may not be able to be fixed. But, it's worth a try. It may go back in once the cable/housing is removed from the car and tried to be straightened.

Re: Brake issues

These are mechanical non energizing brakes which are very different to modern energizing hydraulic systems. It takes some getting used to working on these.

Re: Rear Axle Rebuild
