I run antifreeze with 180 stats in an 8BA...the hottest it ever ran was 190 on a very hot day during stop & go driving.

Try the sealer first......follow directions to a tee.....Tubman, JSeery and others here are masters at this flathead game. You have nothing to lose and hopefully everything to gain.

Not sure about NAPA, but i got shoes for my 52 Victoria from a local family owned parts store in Ohio. Give your NAPA a call, i'll bet they can get them.

Too pricey for me. 93 oct & Sta-bil has worked just fine for winter storage. I run 89 oct during "the season" and have no problems with good performance.

Russ i had an 8ba done 3 yrs ago and the new cam gear was mismarked. Dot was off by 2 teeth. Also had a new oil pump {both parts were Mellings}..... junk. Lower oil pressure than before rebuild....

I had a stock 226 in a 50 2 door sedan with o/d trans. Rebuilt .o3o bore, minor shave on the head.
It beat a v8 or two.
They are good engines.

I'd be cautious. I paid a "pro" appraiser to examine a car for me. He missed major things that cost me $$$$$. I would not have paid what i did if i had seen & DRIVEN the car myself.
