Re: 1957 292 Y block horse power

The reason the 292 was down on HP was that it was a 2V only engine in 1957.

Re: Dual master cylinder f100 brakes

I think I know where you are trying to go with this, but what you are saying is not totally true. A large bore, will require more fluid to move a given distance. And hydraulic pressure is created by...

Re: How to paint a radiator?

Use lacquer, much thinner than enamel paint.

Re: License Plate Restorers

Unless a tag is very over restored ( which a lot of places do ) it would be a tough one for a MVA to say you can't use it. How do they know???

Re: Fall carlisle 2013

Cowtown doesn't promise to be on those scales though. Not in the same league.

Re: Why don't we get a decent mileage from our tires?

I think the most contributing factor is the "rubber" compound used on these old tire designs. I bet they are really soft in comparison to what we are used to in todays tires.

Re: Can spray paint

why believe me huh?? But what you should be using is Master Series Silver. It is a moisture cured urethane primer. I have been using it for almost 20 years now. I'm not going to give all the...

Re: Rattle-can painting

If you are stuck with spray cans . . get lacquer. I would not use a spray can enamel on an exterior piece. At least with the lacquer, you know you can sand and buff. That being said, you can buy...

Re: Torque?

easier formula . . HP = (Torque * RPM) / 5252

. . . solving for. . . . Torque = (5252 * HP ) / RPM

So, if you had 60 HP at 2500 RPMs you would have 126 ft/lbs of Torque.

Re: Torque?

You realize that HP is derived from Torque. So if you have a HP level you believe and know the RPM for which that is taken . . then it's just working backwards to the original torque value.

Re: Primer question for those that paint cars

I only put bodyfiller over epoxy when I am blocking and find slightly low areas. I do spray poly primer over epoxy within it's window time. If you wait past that, just scratch up the epoxy and then...
