Re: 1930 Model A Tudor Value?

If they want to move the car quickly and usually to settle an estate that is the case, the price will need to be down. I don't think they will do any better then the purchase price. I had one...

Re: Two barrel card spacer with pcv

Don't the gas heaters (southwinds) have what you are looking for? I do not know if the port is the correct size.

The picture above looks like one.

Re: Restorer took a short cut...I think.

Hot rodders throw away the chicken wire and fill them in with sheetmetal. They won't care. ;)

Re: Prices of model A's

There is a natural turn over of Model A's and not enough buyers that are interested in keeping them original to hold the market firm. Those hot rodding the Model A's set the market.

Re: Head Studs or bolts, which is better ?

I just got done putting the heads back on a motor and had the same dilemma. I went with the studs but after I got it done think I should have gone with bolts. I had used bolts on a different motor...

Re: starter question

Here are pictures of the two that I am working with. It looks to me that the black one that came off of an 8BA is an early style and the one that has 292 on it is from an 8BA. So conclusion is, both...

Re: starter question

I think the starter that I picked up may say 292 on it but don't think that is what it is. I am going to take another look but I think it is for the earlier flathead.

Interesting read from...

Inquiring minds want to know why? What am I missing when I look them over?

starter question

I picked up a starter that has 292 written on it. I assume it is from a Y-block. I compared it to the one I have here from an 8BA and it is similar in overall size. Will the Y-block starter work...

Re: Flathead Trike

The little thing interest me. How do they cool the V-12? I do not see a radiator.
I do see the water pump and it has a belt on it.

Re: C i d #

295 cu.inch. I figured that out without an online calculator but I think I am closer than what you got. The dome of the piston doesn't matter as long as the dome is the same at both ends of the...

Re: Starting Restoration

Hard to tell from the pictures but I would guess that if careful, you could repaint the hood and get it to match.

Nice car, good luck. Keep us posted.

Re: tow vehicle

Use your Explorer. We had one like yours and used it a few times. Worked o.k. Drive like you are pulling a trailer; think ahead.

Re: 50 Merc pros and cons?

Westcoast summed it up well. They are the 50's car to have, but then I am bias. I would take the Merc before the shoebox.

I have done it as scooder suggests. Worked well. If you can not find it being explained I can look for it. Don't have the time right now.

Re: Buying a car site unseen.

Maybe that is the point for me. I can go and look at the car and still get screwed. I would rather roll the dice and save the trip. On a private sale, I value the integrity of the seller.

Re: Buying a car site unseen.

I have bought a few cars sight unseen and have done fine. I think a lot of it depends on your expectations.

I have bought off of the HAMB site, and E-bay. I look at pictures, talk to the owner or...

Re: Ford turbo 4 banger

I guess everyone needs a rumble seat once but those that say they are useless are correct. Our kids ride in it but I would rather have a trunk. If you change it to a rumble seat, make notes on how...

Take care Bill. I just learned about C-diff last week. Not an easy thing to beat. Praying for a quick recovery.
