Re: spark plugs

I had the same thing happen but after explaining they found some. Several months ago I had to explain to Advance Auto what plastigage was. And they had some in the back.

I have a Tudor as well. Winfield su1 cam, hogged intake and B carb, lightened flywheel an counter balanced crank, with electronic ignition. Put a 3:54 in two years ago. Love it on the flats or...

Re: Need Cylinder Head

Are you going to the almost spring swap meet this weekend at the Puyallup fairgrounds? It’s sponsored by the galloping Gerties model A club. If you want to come, I can pretty much guarantee a head....

Re: Pre Osha

If that were a model A and you didn’t drain the oil first, you would have a mess. Unless of course is was a grain truck.

Re: good spark at plugs but no Henry jiggle

Are you sure it’s an ignition problem? After trying to start the engine, are the plugs wet? I like to spray a little ether in, to see if it will cough, to prove whether the problem is fuel or spark....

Re: Attracting new Model A members.

I drove my A down to Saltwater park ( near Sea Tac airport) one summer Saturday night to visit my friend who was camping there with his kids. The park ranger stopped me on the way out and we talked...

Re: Pressure Plate Fingers

I’m not sure how that could work as different clutches and pressure plates have different dimensions due to manufacturing and previous machine work.

Re: Do rivet nuts work?

I used them in refrigeration hardware applications, and as mentioned, they don’t always grab well and spin.

Re: Tudor lost spark

Sometimes the “slots or tabs” aren’t quite the same size. Have you tried putting your old distributor back in, just to see if it will drop in?

Re: OT - will this old engine analyzer work on Model A's?

Boy is that the truth! I found an Annie 4 port analog temperature analyzer at a swap meet for twenty bucks. I have two others that are iffy, but I like them. Open it up to put batteries in, and just...

Re: Rat Patrol

My friend ,as a milkman, told a customer about co2 to kill moles. The guy piped his exhaust down a hill into the tunnel, and laid down in the house and fell asleep, waiting for it to work....

Re: Door Latch Sticking

I ended up with some filing, and a washer as a shim on one corner. But boy do they close nice . Should have changed them out a long time ago!

Re: Ford poured rear bearing

The parting line is where the cap and block bearings mate up. Forward is towards the front of engine. See modelAcoupe3’s pictures. Thanks everyone!

Ford poured rear bearing

Does anyone have pictures, or drawings of the specs of the rear main, in the block. Specifically, was the forward parting line open into the engine, or was it closed like the other bearings? I’ve...

Re: Labels inside of new tires

Another problem I encountered with Goodyears. The flag emblem is raised a bit inside the tire. Took about 8000 miles to wear a hole in the tube.

Re: Head stud location help.

The one with the longer coarse threads is not a head stud. Either made wrong or wrong application. At second thought, it’s the correct length, just has too many coarse threads. I suppose you could...

Re: starter woes

Are you using the same switch? How do they spin out of the car with no switch, directly connected to a fully charged battery? Just thought, “maybe your battery took a crap”.Have it checked.

Re: Radiator boiling over

I would have to disagree with that test, and here’s why. The flow rate has to match the flow volume. I don’t remember what the gpm Ford designed the cooling system for, so just use a number off the...
