The 53 has a 3.54 I drove it with the Fordomatic shifting very poorly and slipping! The C4 is Ok at 55 0r 60, but turns the stock 239 pretty hard at interstate speeds. I do not have a tach on it so I...

I have a c4 in my 53, You need another gear! FMX has an overdrive and will mount the same. If you can mount the c4 you can mount the FMX.

I am an amateur at lock picking, I was able to pick original ignition on my 51 and 53. The door lock on my 51 F1was so simple it scared me two strokes with the pick tool and it was open!

I have one with the Sherman auxiliary trans in it, It is overdrive, direct and under drive. The only bad thing is the pto is controlled by trans speed. You don't want to put the mower in gear in O.D....

If it starts charging after another Rev Up as you are driving, something is wrong with it. If it does not, the internal regulator has probably sensed battery at full charge. Hook up a temp volt meter...

I have a set of helper coils that came on the back of my 51 F1, mounted just like that looks almost factory. Coil fits over the rubber bumper stop on the frame.

Before, Lay your new rubber out in the sun for a couple of hours to straighten out then put it on the glass install trim then rope it in. Helps to have an extra set of hands but I did mine by myself....

Richard if the tank you ordered has a tube running along the top of the fuel inlet neck your cap does not need to be vented. Look at your old tank if you still have it, it has the tube across the top...

I had an old one I used for fishing reels, it would not touch the salt water corrosion on the anodized aluminum cases! Cant tell you about carbs.
