ring gear slipping off
I have a 30 Tudor. Ring gear keeps slipping forward to the point that starter cant engage.
I remove starter, tap ring gear back into place but eventually happens again.
I tried using LockTite...

Original pop out ignition switch
I would like to have the original pop out key switch repaired. I recall an old post recommending someone who repairs these but I can't find the post.
Any recommendations for someone to do this work...

well in retrospect, i wonder if the grounding at the distributer was the issue all along. Or at least a ground issue of some kind
Basically I changed the coil and condenser and it is running...

I backed the cable out from the lower distributor as Bill Williamson suggested.
I guess it was grounding out there.
Go figure.

update.
I checked the coil/condenser on bench top and get spark Also put the "spark polarity" tester in line and it indicated spark and correct polarity.
So I guess if ignition system works on...

I did use the hand crank thinking that would move the ring gear relative to the Bendix pinion gear. I guess my thinking is wrong??

Would not start. Sounded like starter motor was spinning rapidly without any engagement between starter/Bendix and flywheel.
Thought Bendix was bad so replaced.
