46 pickup flathead headers?

What headers will fit a flathead in a '46 pickup? I only see them listed for '48-'52. Will they work or are they not even close? Any other recommendations?

I'm putting a '69 Mustang drum/drum master cylinder in my '46 pickup. Does it matter which port goes to the front or rear since both reservoirs are the same size?

Re: NP435 to flathead?

My bad, it's a '46 so open driveline which makes it tons easier. The truck has a 59A in it right now, but I'm building an 8CM for it. I wasn't planning to swap the engine until next winter so if I...

NP435 to flathead?

I've got an NP435 transmission with a Borg Warner R10 overdrive on it that I'd like to swap into my truck. Is there an easy way to get this bolted up to the flathead?

Leaf spring pin removal

'46 1/2 ton pickup. How does the forward leaf spring pin remove from the rear springs? Is that a wedge pin that I've circled? Remove the wedge pin then the main pin should pull out? Waiting for my...

Re: Which intake to clear generator?

No pics yet because the engine is disassembled and still on the engine stand. I'm beginning to accumulate parts and want to know my options.

I'm hotrodding a '49 Merc for my '46 pickup. I'd like to run a dual carb intake, but which one will clear the generator? I can't offset mount the gen because the fan attaches to it. Thanks in...

Rear axle ID help

What rear axle is this in my '46 pickup? To my knowledge it should be a banjo with open driveline. The pinion angle is also all kinds of wrong..

'46 pickup engine/trans swap advice needed

I just brought home a '46 Ford pickup with a decent running flathead in it. The seller told me the engine is a '40 but I don't know how to verify that. He also had a Merc engine sitting on the floor...

Re: What brakes are these?

Great info. I wasn't aware that was all available on Raybestos' website. As near as I can tell, the axle is a '58 with these brakes stuck on it. The drums clearly don't match the rest so I wouldn't...

Re: What brakes are these?

It's 5x4-1/2. I haven't found any stamping in the plates. The drum has 37582 D60A 1126 BA. They measure 11x2-1/4" as do the shoes. It's anyone's guess what the axle originally came out of and I doubt...

What brakes are these?

Hoping someone can help ID these brakes. They're on a '58 9 inch. I'm assuming the drums are incorrect. There is a 1/4" spacer between the hub face and drum. Without the spacer the drum rubs on the...

Recognize these spindles?

Does anyone recognize these spindles and brakes? They're on a 37-41 axle. They're meant for an axle with a different kingpin inclination so I plan to swap them for 37-41 spindles. Will I be able to...

Are you experiencing clutch chatter because the engine/trans is moving on the mounts, or has the clutch become oil contaminated?

Re: 52 Ford Pickup

Wrong forum, but yes you can. Positive to positive, negative to negative, and make sure the two vehicles are not touching. Unhook the cables immediately after starting.
