Re: More kudos to Bert's Model A Center

I second the second! I have ordered from Bert's multiple times in the last couple of months and parts are always shipped same-day and arrive from CO to KY in 2 days. Very satisfied with the quality...

Re: Flywheel Housing Check

Hello all! Just thought I would update this thread with the results for future reference. I think I had a couple of issues. A couple of the pressure plate fingers were WAY out of adjustment for...

Re: Output Shaft Play

Very good point Tom and I did verify that the shaft was the later type that requires the round spacer. Perhaps that led to the omission when rebuilt by the PO.

Re: Output Shaft Play

Well, I think this one is a wrap! Disassembled the transmission this morning and as suspected the spacer on the output shaft pilot was missing! I did confirm it was a "short" bearing. Nothing in...

Re: Output Shaft Play

Yes, the joint is tight and I can see the movement of the output shaft inside the case and I am certain it is moving and the input (main drive) shaft is not (fore and aft).

Guess it will be coming...

Output Shaft Play

Finally was able to get around to tearing down my '29 to address the severe clutch judder that has been present since I have owned the car. It's looking like the issue (hopefully) was severe...

Re: Flywheel Housing Check

Thank you Brent for your detailed reply, certainly seems to make sense. Hopefully I just have some clutch or transmission issues and not something more foundational such as crank misalignment.

Re: Flywheel Housing Check

Thanks everyone! Some great food for thought. I will definitely be checking the pressure plate adjustment and go from there. Hopefully it's just the fingers. I do like the channel locks approach,...

Flywheel Housing Check

Good day all! My '29 roadster has had some pretty severe clutch chatter in 1st and reverse and a slight vibration since I have owned it. Ordered a long feeler gauge to check the finger adjustment,...

Re: Front Engine Mount Post Length

Thanks so much! Turns out mine was a little short, and on closer inspection had been repaired in the past. Ordered a replacement and all went together without drama. Thanks for the help!

Front Engine Mount Post Length

Curious how long the threaded post should be on a front engine yoke. I suspect mine may have been sheared off and filed, since it seems a little short and has no cotter pin hole. It was mounted...

Front Motor Mount Removal

Getting ready to replace the cheesy aftermarket mount with the proper setup, I have loosened the rear mounts and removed the throttle linkage. I have not yet removed the yoke to see what clearance I...

Re: Remove/Replace Headlight Reflector

Thanks, someone had bent these over pretty aggressively in the past but I'm all set now.

Re: Remove/Replace Headlight Reflector

Thanks again everyone! The lighting is pretty bad where I have the car stored, looking closer this morning I could see the tabs at 3 and 9 that I had to unbend. Now I just need to deal with a...

Remove/Replace Headlight Reflector

I am probably overlooking the obvious, but I didn't want to force anything - how do you remove the headlight reflectors from the headlight bucket?

Thanks everyone for all of the interesting commentary - regarding both diet and roadsters! I am happy to report that I do indeed fit comfortably in my new (to me) roadster! As discussed, entry with...

Will I fit in a Roadster??

I am afraid I may have gotten the cart before the proverbial horse, but I am in the process of purchasing a nice '29 roadster to fulfill a lifelong dream. I have spent some time with a '30 tudor...

Re: Anyone Recognize these Fenders?

I think you are probably correct, I was just hopeful they were off-the shelf. Very nice work in any case, looks like they have the bead and a wire edge. I also really like the small cowl.

Re: Anyone Recognize these Fenders?

Thank you, that was my first thought as well. However, I don't see that they offer any that are just open and flat like this?

Anyone Recognize these Fenders?

Curious if anyone knows the origin of the open fenders on the speedster for sale at the link below? Would love to find some for a speedster project.
