Re: Crank
Part of that money is also to get the engine to pass emission standards and get somewhat decent gas milage.
I did not read the article mentioned here yet, but I read a few others on the new...

Re: Help with a recent 8ba rebuild
Got it, Jim. Thank you and that's what I thought. Maybe you can tell from my post, I don't fool around with the side mount distributors much if at all. LOL!

Re: Help with a recent 8ba rebuild
Just curious, when you guys are recommending to move the rotor one or two teeth, can you explain more what you mean? All of the flathead distributors I've dealt with just have a flat spot for the...

Re: 8BA Bell housing
I do believe the only difference is the cast iron truck one will take a 11" clutch and the stamped steel Mercury can only fit an 10" or smaller.

Re: Where’s my water going?
Then don't do it again. The last thing you want is to snap off a stud/bolt. If it keeps coming up to spec, they are at spec.

Re: KR Wilson engine lifting bracket
Ahh. Interesting. I don't own one, but I've thought that's how it worked. Thanks for setting me straight. I've been on the hunt for one for years. They've all seem to have disappeared.

Re: Flat head back firing pop. pop over and over
Check the spark plugs. Carbon fouled spark plugs can cause these symptoms. If not the spark plugs, could be valves. Run some SeaFoam in the gas and squirt some Marvel Mystery Oil in the spark plug...

Re: Break-in gone wrong!
Not a bushing, but a plug or grub screw to block or close that hole off. Without the push rod in place, oil will be forced through that hole. In a stock set-up, the push rod would cause resistance...
