Re: 1934 ford backfiring

Are you running a Holley 94 carb? I had issues backfiring and I found that the accelerator pump nozzle was not being secured by the cluster retainer that bridges the clusters to secure them. It...

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Thanks Ronnie! Yes...this is a rewarding one....and seeing all those shiny new valves lined up is nice. It's a very nice complete kit and I'm very pleased with the results!

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Well, progress fellas! Don't know how taboo it is to post links to other forum threads. I don't have an image hosting account, nor do I wish to have one. But, I've posted pics in my thread at the...

Re: Pilot “Bearing” Or “Bushing” Which Do You Prefer?

It seems like an evenly mixed bag. There’s a bronze bushing in mine now, but I did order a few of the 6203-2rs… we’ll see when I get to that point. I’ll measure it and see how worn it is compared to...

Re: Pilot “Bearing” Or “Bushing” Which Do You Prefer?

Hey Ken! The bearings I’ve ordered are the 6203-2RS as Mart stated above. I ordered a few because they’re very inexpensive…

Pilot “Bearing” Or “Bushing” Which Do You Prefer?

Was just wondering which you guys prefer, the clutch pilot bearing, or the bronze pilot bushing?

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

I'll probably have to knurl the guides and I'll make a mandrel at work.

I've got a line on and old school seat tool and I'll cut them myself. I am a machinist so I'm fairly sure I can figure this...

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

I'll have to cancel my order from Red's first. Vanpelt has the kit and it's even less expensive. I'll figure my path forward once I call Red's on Monday.... I was hoping to start reassembly by the...

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Engine is out and I’ll continue with disassembly. Some parts have started to arrive, but I fear I may be waiting on my valve kit. I ordered it from Reds on Friday and it says the sale is still...

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Yeah, thanks for the input Ronnie! I had a sneaky suspicion the guides were the culprit being how loud the valves started rattling when that raw unmetered fuel got dumped down the manifold. Plus...

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

I'll definitely give that a go after I figure out this vacuum leak deal. It ran like a raped ape until the power valve/raw fuel deal. There's another symptom I forgot to mention, when it was leaking...

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Yes Bob....no difference in running. What I haven't done, is try spaying into the oil fill and see if that makes a difference. That would indicate a leak into the gallery....

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube

Sorry, I did forget to mention it idles fine....nice, quiet and smooth. I get what you're saying, I'm gonna give it a go and see how much difference each cylinder makes.

Re: 59A-B Vacuum at dipstick tube
