Re: Leg Room Question

LOL...I'm 6'2", my wife is 5'2", and our son is 5'10".
This whole discussion is very helpful. Should I go the "T" Touring route, anything 1909 through '25 seems to be the way to go. I would never...

Re: Leg Room Question

Thanks, guys! It seems an earlier T Touring car would be the most comfortable, if any of them were really comfortable...
I never knew interior room suffered during the last couple of model years,...

Re: Leg Room Question

Thanks, guys, there might be options to make this doable.

I appreciate reading your thoughts.
I've been "fixated" on a touring car so there would be space for my wife (5'2"), adult son (a very...

Leg Room Question

Merry Christmas, Everyone!
I log in here regularly and enjoy everyone's posts.
I really enjoy learning about how these cars work.
I've never even sat in a Model T. A friend of mine, who knows I'd...

Re: Ford Piquette Avenue - Model T Museum

Thanks for sharing! Did Studebaker build the addition to the original plant's left?

Re: Thinking of getting a Model T

That's nice! The touring model is my favorite. Keep us posted as to how your ownership is going, and what you're doing to keep your car roadworthy. Thanks for sharing!

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

Sorry I haven't replied earlier. I'm in the middle of a 1940s-era 4-way traffic signal complete restoration that has consumed my thoughts and time for the past several days. Thank you, Dodge,...

Re: Driving Slow in a T

Sweet car! I'll bet it's a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing. For how long have you owned it? How did you find it?

Re: Driving Slow in a T

LOL...It's a Husqvarna, a really nice riding mower that he bought 2-3 years ago. I'm not getting any younger, and wouldn't mind inheriting it one day, especially if I move.;)

That's a beautiful...

Re: Driving Slow in a T

I like the analogy of it being more of a clamp; from what I've seen, that's what it does.
My dad's riding mower has a foot pedal that must be pushed and held all the way down to make the mower move....

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

Kurt, probably less, unless the valve guide seals are bad. That's a known issue with them. Or from a leaky oil pan gasket. Anyway, as interesting as a Corvair air-cooled engine / drive train is it's...

Re: Driving Slow in a T

Kelly mt, wasn't your leg ready to fall off when you were finished?

Just how much pressure must be exerted to depress the clutch? Is there much spring back pressure?

Everyone, I'm really...

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

mhsprecher, Thanks for the insight. I'd think it would take someone in a serious theft ring to target a T. That aside, I'd be more afraid of someone accidentally or deliberately vandalizing it out of...

Re: Driving Slow in a T

Will, and J Franklin, thanks for the added explanations.
I suppose the best way to understand the concept is to actually drive one!

Everything is appreciated.

Re: Driving Slow in a T

Thank you. So are you saying to put it in high gear and then close the throttle and retard the spark? OK, I'm a little dense...It would seem awfully uncomfortable having to keep the clutch pedal...

Driving Slow in a T

Hello again, Everyone, Question, please...
If someone wants to drive a T slowly, say 5mph due to bumpy roads or whatever, does he or she have to keep pressing the clutch pedal in the whole way after...

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

Hi rotorwrench, I've been watching YouTube videos on how to start and drive a T, and in one of them, the "free start" was shown. The owner said that's a sign of a well-tuned car. I think keeping the...

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

Hi ronn, My dad loved his Corvair. Prior to the blue '64, he had a (white) 1960 model; I don't remember that one, but there are pictures of me with it. With the engine weight onto the rear, that car...

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

Thanks, Kurt, and to all.
I totally get it that an A is more versatile, that more can be done with it as far as driving / traveling goes; it's more of a true road car than is a T.
I hadn't...

Re: T a Good "Starter" Car?

Thanks, Guys. I appreciate the comments.

I was considering a T because it seems so simple and maintainable with basic tools, that I could disassemble (almost) the whole thing with wrenches and...

Hello Everyone, new member here.
I'm enjoying reading all of the Model T-related posts!
I don't own a Model T, or any antique car for that matter, YET. A Model T is on my "antique car buy" short...
