Do these side curtains look familiar?

These came with my 31 roadster, but obviously don't fit it. Do they look familiar to anybody?

Screw for windwing clamp open car 30-31

I'm in bad shape. I can't find one of the screws for my windwings, and the only thing I can find from the vendors is the complete set of clamps for
$80, more or less.

Would anybody have an extra...

Re: Model A Mechanic

I'm in MAFCA and the local club, and I have not gotten any support from either.

Re: Are most repro parts too small?

I don't know about window glass, but I took my mirror to two local shops and got two copies of my original (on the right in the picture). The mirror with my name taped on it was the right size, but...

Re: Are most repro parts too small?

Thanks for the information. In 90 years, who knows what somebody might have ordered from J.C. Whitney to stick on his car?

I'm not a lot concerned about that right now, because I'm just doing what...

Re: Are most repro parts too small?

You know whereof you speak. How do you like my new floor mat?

Of course, I'm just wasting time with mirrors and floor mats on a car that still won't run right. It's really cool to ride around town...

Re: Are most repro parts too small?

I'm not blaming Snyder's. I said I didn't measure beforehand. I imagine most vendors get this licensed Ford stuff from the same manufacturers, so whoever I order a mirror from, it's not going to fit...

Re: Are most repro parts too small?

I did. They said I could return the mirror for a credit to my card. The mirror was $7.50, and the postage to return it would be half that much. Maybe my wife needs a new mirror to carry in her purse.

Are most repro parts too small?

Last month, I was unhappy because the cable in my pop out repair kit was too small to fit securely in the switch housing. This month, I'm unhappy because the mirror glass I ordered is too small....

Re: Installing new Distributor Bushings ????

A can of dusting spray, used to clean keyboards and such, can get as cold as - 60F if sprayed upside down.

Re: Darned reproduction parts!

Touché. If I could weld, turn on a lathe, and plate metal, I'd tell those vendors what to do with their imperfect parts.

Until then, I'd should probably be grateful the parts are available at all.

Darned reproduction parts!

I complained last week about the ill-fitting ignition repair kit, and I'm complaining this week about the poorly-designed choke rod set. Whereas Henry attached the knob firmly to the rod, the...

Re: Ignition cable blues

Thanks for the suggestions. As for sending the ignition unit out for rebuilding, I prefer, as much as possible, to do my own work. With the suggestions I got from this forum, I was able to get a...

Re: How to remove ethanol from gasoline.

Two chemists walked into a bar. The first one said, "I'll have a glass of H2O." The second one said, "I'll have a glass of H2O too." The second chemist died.

Ignition cable blues

My car came with a replacement ignition switch, and I've been wanting a pop up switch ever since. I managed to get one that I should have just installed as it was, but I wanted to clean it up first....

Re: Kudos for Bratton’s

I hate always to be the whiner, but I ordered parts from another of the well-known suppliers and eleven days later they still hadn't arrived. I twice left messages through their website but never got...

Re: Horn repair

And please follow the advice Andrews gives about being gentle with the armature. I wasn't, and one of the wires broke. I was lucky to find a rusty but working horn on an auction site, so I put its...

I guess I am a Model A person

I want to again thank all the folks who responded to my previous whining about how frustrating my new car was. Time heals all wounds, though, and after changing out the coil and condenser and blowing...

Re: I'm not a Model A person
