Re: Alternator vs. Generator Pulley

I know the alternator needs a small pulley but I have always had to make a special pulley for all of my alternators. I like a pulley about a half inch larger in diameter so I can make the grove in...

Re: Another random 'A' pic

This picture reminds me of a model A wreck in my neck of the woods almost 60 years ago. Our local bootlegger moved his shine in 10 gallon kegs that he hauled in the trunk of his 1930 coupe late at...

Re: Wind Wing Tension Washer

I've had lots of wind wing troubles over the years. Not so much the spring washers but keeping the clamps tight and not slipping off. Someone on here gave me some good advice about drilling a...

Re: The right way to use waterglass

I think I've figured out how I'll use it in this B John Deere. I'll take the bottom radiator hose loose and put a elbow on there that stands straight up and at least as high as the top of the block....

Re: The right way to use waterglass

I used lead washers on all the head bolts. The head that I used was off of a tractor that didn't have a leak problem. I checked the push rod tubes but didn't put pressure on them. I may remove the...

Re: The right way to use waterglass

I made sure the head gasket was the right match. I'm pretty sure it's the block that leaks because I used a different head when I put it back together. Pressurizing it maybe the answer. I want to...

Re: Wind Wings

My glass is tempered and it didn't shatter. Maybe I was lucky. I put them in the sink and ran water on them as I drilled the holes with a dremel with a diamond dust bit.

Re: Wind Wings

I have always had wind wing troubles. I've changed rubber, glued rubber, changed to s.a.e. screws and still had them to slide down and lost one. Someone on here years back said to mark your glass...
