Re: Not Model A but interesting

Nope. But here's a hint: GPS, the acronym for Global Positioning System, is rather a misnomer since they require satellites which did not exist at the time.

Re: Would leaving the ignition on cause damage to the coil?

Agreed! Found this out the hard way. My starter failed when attempting a start and with the key off kept cranking until I grabbed a wrench and disconnected it! Needless to say I installed a kill...

Sick Ahh-Ooh-Gah

The title should suggest where I am going with this post. My horn kind of sounds Ahh-Ooh-Gah, but is barely audible. When on the road and RPMs are up of course it's a bit louder but still quite...

Re: Gas Tank

The tank in my 29 Cabriolet is under the cowl. I removed it by disassembling the fire wall. (The upper section of that is the front wall of the tank.) After freeing it up, it drops down and is...

Re: Travel in Cold Weather

I was told (or read somewhere) that unlike modern cars, when you drain the water from a Model A radiator, there is none left in the engine. I took over the Cab in my avatar from my Dad who restored...

Re: Model A in TV series NCIS

That car has appeared before in earlier NCIS episodes. It is the car for Abby the goth forensic scientist. From the footage I've seen, easy to tell it's a hot rod built from a '31 coupe.

Re: U Joint

I was thinking that the ultimate solution would be to get another U joint from a different manufacturer. Just for laughts tho, I don't think there's a repair kit out there for this one! :):)

Re: U Joint

I can't tell for sure what how old one aligned since it was in pieces when removed. But I can say this, the depth of that bore of the old piece was 1-7/16" while the depth of the new one is 1-1/2". ...

Re: Out for a short cruise . . .

Re: Out for a short cruise . . .

I drained the lube from the rear end - there was plenty. Although there is a small leak, I keep the level where it should be. And maybe the good news is when I drained it, there were no broken...
