Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
I guess I have always known the rear main runs under the crank, but it was that 8" long triangular die cast part that I thought had something to do with the seal, like somehow it was external. Been...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
I now have all the valves installed and adjusted. Everything went well. After I cracked the lifter all the bolt squishing was lighter and at 40 in/lb they adjust firmly and none felt at all loose. I...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
'Adventures in used parts' The saga continues. I found I had a few guides that while they fit the valve nicely, the guide was somewhat loose in the block. 12 were a push through with hard thumb...

Re: 1937 - changing gear advice
You should not have to double clutch this transmission with the exception of downshifting from 2nd gear into first. It sounds to me like your syncros may be worn out. There are others here that know...

Re: Don't be afraid of shipping -Deals exist!!
I had a diesel engine shipped from Texas to Washington. Yellow Freight quoted me 1600.00. I found 'weshipengines.com' who charged me 400.00 and it arrived in of all things, a UPS semi. They find an...

Re: Running ford king seeley gauges on 12 v
I envision a little test station. Let's used compressed air. Starting with a good mechanical gauge and a good KS sender plumbed inline with your compressor at, say 30 psi. With a 6/12 battery...

Re: 226 engine reading 80# of oil pressure
Hey Cody, good to see you showing back up. I wish I knew what to tell you. What was the OP in the past? Maybe you have a clogged oil passage or a stuck relief valve. I don't think there's any harm...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
Thanks, and strangley enough I just came up to the house and read this as I finished lapping all the intakes and labeling them. I thought all the intakes looked much narrower than that one. In fact I...

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Maybe I should run down to the shop and install all the valve assemblies right now before someone suggests otherwise. :)
Yesterday when I grabbed the cornhead...

Re: Opinion needed on fuel pumps
The reason I like my little 12v momentary switched pump is for the joy of the instant start after it sits for months. I have the utmost respect for bone stock original vehicles and their keepers too....

Re: 276 stroker from 35 years of parts
My big valve day started out slowly. My valve face grinder came with an aftermarket electric submersible pump for the coolant. I tried it back when I got it and it whirred so I thought was good....
