Re: Insurance policy w/o liability?
I asked Allstate to add my A to the regular policy. They just bought a Hagerty full coverage policy and added it on. Said that was cheaper than adding a new vehicle to the policy.,

Re: Help diagnosing engine knock

Re: Rear Block Babbitt
I do not understand the 2nd pic. If the cap is cocked as you show against the "seal" something is seriously wrong. I take it you know the pic is not a rear main cap? The oil groove is wrong, but will...

Re: Clutch Adjustment Rod
One inch free play is usually not enough unless your clutch is worn. 2" is about right. Do the gears grind when putting it into gear when stopped? No need to double clutch going up. Maybe you just...

Re: Clutch Stuck Disengaged
If you look way down pasts the pressure plate you should be able to see if the input shaft is turning. You can also see if you can get it in gear without grinding. If it grinds, the input shaft is...

Re: Feedback on modern tube shocks for Model A's
I have a set of tube shocks from one of the suppliers, and while better than nothing, they are a bit stiff. I took out a leaf from the front and back spring which helped. With the heavier cars that...

Re: Poor quality transmission roller bearings
I just bought a set of roller bearings from Brattons. I was uncertain if they were "dimpled" or "axled" so took one apart. It was the dimple type. Called Bratton, was told these were all he could...

Flywheel housing shims
After some trial and error, I got the flywheel housing within .002 all the way around. However, it took shims of .022 on one ear and .018 on the other, which is way more than the gasket on the block...
