Think I just realized & am lucky. The hubs I have must be 40-41’s as they still have the studs pressed in with the swedge marks above threads Tim talks about.

Checked early Ford Store & found what they call pair of drums kit ( includes correct studs to use on hubs). Created another question. EFS note on kit says must use 40- 42 hubs, I thought 40 to 48...

In process of converting to Hydraulic brakes on my ‘35. I have a set of ‘47 rear hubs, my question is do the ‘47 hubs attach using same hardware, seal, bearings etc. as the ‘35?

Thx all! I was not that concerned with originality, just thought if easy to order one I would & couldn't find anything listed for the ‘35. I have some 1/8” thick leather I’ll cut & fit a piece.

Wow tubman, good stuff! I’m typically a straight up timing light guy but what u say makes sense. I’ll start with the Vac gauge & get best Rpm & back off a bit seeing how it runs there!!

Hi all, specs show for stock 1949 8BA timing s/b 2 degrees BTDC. Mine has a mild cam, a Merc crank & dome pistons. What should I set timing at. I think it s/b advanced from that but how much?
