I just looked at the case again and it does have the hole for a pedal shaft. I guess it is an AA then. I would be happy to let someone have it for $50 if they can pick it up in Michigan(Kalamazoo)....

The one I have does not appear to have the pedal shaft. It also has a PTO or something coming out of the passenger side of the case. Does this sound familiar?? Thanks

Ok, I think I have pictures showing the top casting. The one looking down the venturi shows only one hole where there should be 2 I think. The other pic shows the idle mixture screw bottoming out...

Your latest failure could be something as simple as a timing gear that lost a couple of teeth. I had one fail last fall and it made a terrible noise. Hope you are back on the road soon.
