Re: What strange comments or questions have you heard about your Model A

I was at a local car show. Some guy said, loud enough to impress all the people around him, "I'd hate to be that guy when he needs new tires for that thing." I, literally, had 10 miles on a brand...

Re: broken screws in oak, drill or give up?

I broke a screw in a set of oak cabinets, that I built, just a few weeks ago. I used a piece of brake tube a few inches long. I filed teeth on one end with a 3 corner file. I did have to recut the...

Re: 31 Mail truck on modern chassis

Brent is correct about the engine and front axle position on a modern chassis. They always end up with a bucktoothed appearance, like the old Walter trucks

Re: Putting a V8 in a model a

In your first post., you say that you don't know how. You need to carefully examine your skill set. Can you weld? Do you have a large enough space and a set of tools? You don't just stick in a V8 and...

Re: Lost Neutral

As is typical with any board, there is a lack of reading comprehension going on along with a tendency to grab the ball and run in any direction. In the original post, he said that he has all the...

Re: Lost Neutral

Planetary transmissions do, indeed, have a neutral. Half pedal or half brake lever is neutral on a Model "T". Since neutral is not a gear but the lack of one, when neither the low gear band or the...

Re: Lost Neutral

I must be missing something here. If you know how a transmission works, as it goes from one gear to the next, not having neutral, between the gears, is impossible. When going, let's say, from first...

Re: painting running board aprons.

"Cut"....coarse compound prior to polish or buff. We use to just call it "rubbing it out"

Re: 28 Town Car?

What an odd ad.
The seller seems to have no idea of what he has, yet in is priced at FAR less than a real town car. Doesn't seem too far out of the price range for a Briggs Fordor

Re: metalergy

As a general rule, I never cool metal with any oil, water or any other artificial means. In nearly every case, it will induce brittleness. Springs and other heat treated items are a different kettle...

Re: '35 Ford rims on Model A's

Speedo will only be affected if the overall diameter of the tire, wheel or turny roundy thingy, what ever you choose to call it, is changed

Re: Can anyone in the Seattle area come help me trouble shoot my pickup

If it will run for 10 seconds, I doubt, very much, that timing is your problem. Most electrical problems are fuel related and vise versa. Check for sticking needle. Try another condenser
