I am still running the mechanical fuel pump. I was going to seal off that breather and run a tube from the air filter into it. Are you suggesting to block the breather...

Toilet paper oil filter adapter
After hearing and reading about toilet paper being used as an oil filter I couldn't believe it when I ran into this. Thought it was all talk but apparently this company made an adapter to do so.

If your voltage is varying coming to the coil, i would suggest checking the wires and connections coming from power to switch to coil. The ignition switch may also need a cleaning.

Forklift impact.... ouch. Explains why the rivets are intact with missing tube in post #2. Yes I think it is standard from what I can tell comparing to mine.

What year rear are you rebuilding?
That piece was not with my new bearings and race when I recently rebuilt rear on my '38.

If the lean on the dipstick tube is leaning toward the front of the engine it is correct to allow it to fit into the contour of the stock exhaust manifold.
