the c-6 was basically a truck trans used behind the big ford engines, it eats up about 35 horse,aod up till around 1989 or 90 are all hydralic operated, no wires like the chevy aod trans

well, you know the gen is working, the engine will keep running with a battery cable disconnect because the gen is putting power to the coil, disconnecting a batt cable is the fastest way to find...

i use 4 oz per 10 gal of fuel and 1 qt in the oil at oil change , i have a filter so i need 5 qts at every change i use 40w all year long in my 4 flathead v/8s, and heaven forbid, i change the oil...

i remember those days when i worked in a garage, you never replaced any thing, you repaired it, rebuilt carbs and fuel pumps, filed points, cleaned spark plugs as you said, i also had a little tool...

Frank, if you dish the drum with the 3 arm puller it doesnt make any difference which one you use, the drum will probably be damaged

im going to be yelled at again for saying this, the only puller i have found that will pull a tapered axle hub is the great big 3 arm puller that goes over the lug bolts, attach it tighten as tight...

oil pressure was never given for the flathead v/8, all that was stated was #35 at 35 mph, your oil pressure is good, and anyway its not the pressure that saves the engine, its the volume going thru...

yes charlie, ive done 2, the first one i pulled the engine and said i would never do that, the second i removed the cross member welde tabs and bolted it back in, then welded up the cuts i made to...

new plugs wont tell you much, plugs that have been run are a true indication of the condition in the combustion chamber, they look xlnt to me, half of the guys on here wished theres were looking...

i will add a little info here, some one earlier said the mustang 2 was used in the ointo first( do you want a pinto front suspension) what he didnt add is the ones sold are not pinto or mustang 2...

if you really want ifs call fat mans and order the complete mustang 2 front suspension, expensive but every thing is engineered to fit, others out there but fat mans is the best

clutch freeplay should be 1" to 1 1/2" when pushed down with your fingers, to much free play and trans will grind going into gear, to little and the clutch may slip because its not releasing all the...

there are 5 body blocks with bolts thru them and one bolt near the fire wall, all need to be removed, the bolts thru the body blocks and body rails can get stuck over the year because of corosion,...

it works ok, but its inflamible , propane, if you use it your supposed to put the sticker near the pump, saying inflamible so the mechanic wont blow himself up

if your heads and block are perfectly straight dont use composition gaskets, they cause the problems your having, use copper, i know this doesnt help with your current problem, but it will prevent it...

LOL, two things wrong, dont use aluminum heads, and never use composition gaskets, and you just found out why
