Wow thats great. I would have tried that method over JB Weld, but other concerns ruled out a fix. So I'm thinking you are drilling one hole, threading it, then tapping in the rod and then move over...

I have, am buying a rebuilt motor the previous owner did the JB Weld thing. That's not the kind of fix I want. My hope is the "new" motor will resolve other issues... blow by... Babbeted bearings...
