Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
I haven’t had the wheels off, I don’t have the tools at work to do it. Can I adjust them from the outside?

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
Anyone have a lead on the bleeder screw size? I didn’t measure mine when I had them out and I’m out of town for a week.

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
Ok so I bled the fronts with a hand pump and then had an assistant pump the brakes and do it the usual way. I need the assistant to help me with the rears, I vacuum bled them but that was it so far....

Re: 1933 coolant "water"
Correct. They also boil at a lower temp, which is why newer systems are pressurized. A pressurized liquid boils at a higher temperature.

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
Not inaccessible but more of a PITA than the front. Only a few extra curse words [emoji23]. Just requires a 1/4” ratchet with socket. And yes, speed bleeder would have helped. The vacuum bleeder...

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
I haven’t scoped out the rear yet, I will look into it.
If I can get a set of standard bleeder screw on there I have a vacuum hand bleeder I can use. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a bunch of junk out...

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
I’m gonna pull it out Monday am and match it to my thread pitch gauge. Has to be a standard item.

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
Nope, it was suggested that I replace the wheel cylinder if they are that old.

Re: Bleeding brakes on ‘42
Yes, I have the original type and not the common type of bleeder. I’m not in a position to pull the wheels off the truck so I’m hoping a simple bleeding will be enough to get them to work. The...

Bleeding brakes on ‘42
Ok so I was able to replace a front brake hose on our 1942 Ford truck without a hitch today (thank you PB B’laster!) but I’m unsure how to bleed them. The bolt above the hose on the back side of the...

Gas splashing out of filler neck while driving
Hi everyone. Stupid question.
1942 ford truck, gas splashes out of the filler neck when driving, pretty much only when I take a left turn or the right side of the truck dips lower than the left. ...

Re: Front brake hose replacement 41 Ford truck
Agree with both posts, thank you!
I figure the steel line will probably come apart, so I’m anticipating replacing that to the master cylinder as well. I despise bending brake lines lol.

Front brake hose replacement 41 Ford truck

Making your own vinyl/rubber floor?
I was at the hardware store today and for $12 I was able to get some vinyl mat off a roll. I’m most of the way though installing it, I will post a pic later.
The permanence of the truck bed...

Re: Making your own vinyl/rubber floor?
I did some measuring and pondering today. I think the bed liner will work best. There are some more expensive ones that you can tint but for now I think I will use the Herculiner red (provided I...
