I actually have a T5 World class in the garage. My Tbird is pretty much 100% original, not restored or pretty, other then the radio so not really looking to do much beyond maybe change the rear gear...

It is supposed to be a 1/4 Isky. I have run it on a few different carbs that I know are good. With a tri power setup i get 10in/mg with a single 97 I get a bit more say 13.5in/mg.

Quick question I have a 312 y Block that has ~1500 miles on a rebuild. Only problem was it was rebuilt built in ~1983.

I have been going through the motor and it runs just fine with a rebuilt...

Final gear is a 1:1, tires around 28 inch would be around 2400.

I know that I quick change is really the best option or a overdrive but its not in the budget. Was hoping to keep it under 750$...

Does anybody have a source for 3.00-2.75 gears for a Ford Banjo rear end.
I have only seen one company offer a 3.27 and at 849$ it seems a little excessive.

3.00 gears would put me at 2300 rpm...

It has to do with adding mass to the center of a panel, as you get closer to a seamed edge there is less ability for the metal to distort or make noise.

20% coverage in the center of the panel...

OK spent some time timing the motor a bit better and working on the progressive link. I now have a leak free vacuum advance system as well. Plus found a few smaller air leaks that I have patched up. ...

Alright I bow down to your superior wisdom. Thermostats were the answer. I actually found what looks like a 1/2 inch restriction in the radiator hoses so I pulled those out and popped in 2 180 degree...

Thank you! That's the way I way measuring the heads as well. Looks like I am running way to low there as well. normally I would say way to much fuel but my carbs are not icing down to a decently low...
