Re: Engine dies

It starts back up quite easily & runs fine. It can be a bit hard to start when it's been sitting for a week. I have not looked for vacuum leaks.

Re: Engine dies

When I exit the drive I have the choke pushed in all the way. I probably only let it idle for a minute before leaving the drive. The car is headed up hill as it enters the road.

Engine dies

We have a 1939 Ford that dies when pulling out of our driveway. The incline of the drive to the road is not great but on first attempt the car dies. I don't know if I should blame the carb or fuel...

Does anyone know if the 1939 ignition switch will ever be available again?

1939 Ford Woody wood arch over driver rear Fender

I'm looking for a repairable wheel arch for over the driver side rear fender of a 1939 Ford Woody. If you have a new wood piece, that would work also. I don't need the dog leg, just the portion from...

Re: puzzled

Good ideas on the clamps. I shouldn't assume they are tight.

Re: puzzled

It is a coolant mix, not plain water. It wasn't froze on the floor. I didn't see any water in the area of the front main cap bolts. Usually I will see water there if the pump is dripping.

puzzled

Our Model A did this last winter & now I find it has done it again. I have maybe 1/2 quart of water on the floor. I can't find any wet spots on the radiator but i am guessing there must be a leak. It...

Re: Hand Crank

TonyM, the extension is just as your picture shows. The smaller lug nut end doesn't fit the Ford lug nuts. It's too small for a Model A Ford up through 1939 ford for sure.

Hand Crank

Can anyone identify this hand crank. I had a handle already & it works on the lug nuts but this handle is too small to fit a lug nut. The black one fits the lug nuts.

Ignition Lock

My ignition key gives me trouble if I remove it from the lock & then try to insert it back into the lock & turn it to the unlock position. I jacked the front end of the car up & noticed that when the...

Re: 1939 Ford Sedan Steering

I made an adjustment on the steering. I think it's a bit tighter now. I'll have to wait & see how it feels after I drive it more. Will need to recenter the steering wheel too.

Re: 1939 Ford Sedan Steering

Kube, I have checked all the front end parts for looseness & everything looks good. Should I adjust the screw with the front end on jack stands?

1939 Ford Sedan Steering

The steering on our car leaves me nervous to drive the car. I won't say it wanders but there isn't any road feel. The steering feels almost like a very loose power steering. I can't detect any up &...

Re: 1939 Ignition Switch

I have another thought Kube. Is it possible that the steering column tube is slightly out of position in the steering drop? This could make it harder for the pin to go into the collar on the steering...

Re: coils won't fire 1922

I think that is what we accidently did when we first tried to time it. I'd like to figure out what to proceed with.

coils won't fire 1922

I am trying to help a guy get his 1922 T running again. The last time it ran was 4 or 5 years ago. He changed the timer & rod & put a new wire harness on to the timer. When he tries to start the car...

1939 Ignition Switch

Should the 1939 Ignition switch be able to move to the on position without wiggling & persuading the key? It doesn't seem normal to have to coax the key into position.

Ignition switch

I'm looking for a new ignition switch for a 1939 Ford Sedan. Mine gives me trouble when I try to unlock it. A lot of wiggling & pushing.
