Hi folks, so I have a Drake tank in my 34. The gas cap is original and I put a new cork (hand made) gasket on it, every time I fill up it leaks out, I'm careful to stop pumping too close to the top...

most gm style one wire set ups can be converted to 3wire. you may see a two post connector area not in use. Any auto store should have the connector with some short leads. All you need after that is...

So, Its fixed, I put I high output alternator on from powermaster but the symptom remained. Once I powered the fan from starter solenoid all is good. I still don't get a charge at idle but I think...

Just an update, I tried a smaller pulley and although I do see an improvement the amps still drop when the fan kicks in. I think I may bite the bullet and purchase a high output alternator. Ken

Thanks all, I ordered a smaller pulley to start out with. As near as I can tell my alternator is rated at 60 amps. I will try the pulley first and post what happens. Ken

shark fin jacks

I'm trying to locate a shark fin ford jack for my 34, I see some on ebay occasionally. Can someone tell me why some look like they are cast and others look more like stamped steel? Ken

Check to see if you have a vent on your oil pan. I don't know if the 35 engine block was vented in the front pass side or not. My 59ab has a vent there and was using a 34 pan with no vent in that...

Take your time and mark every hole, use a punch for the bolts to go through. Check with third gen, he may have the good welting like original. Ken
