Re: 1932 1933 1934 truck restoration or hot rod
" Does any one restore trucks anymore and would love to hear or see some. As a truck enthusiast I always wondered why you dont see a lot of stock truck."
They're out there. The BEFORE and...

Re: Can't Find Neutral in 1940 4-Speed Tranny
Another thought. Did you take the shift arm out of the tower to remove the transmission? If so it might be possible that when you reinstalled it the pins that hold the cap on the shift arm to the...

Re: Can't Find Neutral in 1940 4-Speed Tranny
I experienced a similar condition on the 4 speed in my tonner. The source of the problem was the notch on the shift arm that became wallowed out. First check the pin and the hole in the shift tower...

Re: What is this truck?
Did the 1940 Australian Big Trucks have a cowl vent? I can’t tell from your photos. That might explain the use of 1/4 windows on trucks made in Australia.

Re: What is this truck?
"Tonner has same look, 122" W.B. 17" split rims and hub caps specific to them."
To clarify a misconception the 1940 17" Tonner Rims used a Continuous Locking Ring to hold the tire to the rim...

Re: What is this truck?
Gary
There was a good restaurant (pre Covid) in downtown Anacortes that I might be able to convince my wife that a 3 hour ride in the Tonner would be fair compensation for any aches and pains that...

Re: 35 Ford Bread truck
GARY. That truck is a JEWEL! It looks like the bed is metal skinned over a wood frame. Right up your alley to make it right. The backstory is how it got to ID from NY and what its been doing...

Re: Pictures, how to post?
Very important to have the photos reduced in size to 800X600 pixels before attempting to attach them or you won’t be able to upload them to the Barn. I use a Photoshop edit program, but there are...

Re: Ford T8D-1 shift pattern
The 4 Speed shift pattern in the Tonner looks like this Reverse is all the way to the right and down. To put it into reverse you have to lift the lever up on the shift arm.

Re: 1940 3/4 ton fuel tank and seat
Attached are photos of the gas tank and seat in the 40 Tonner. This setup will be the same as yours. The gas tank has two tits on the front side that fit into one of 3 holes in the seat bottom. ...

Re: 1938 Tonner Bed Floor Question
I don't know how the factory painted the bed on your 38 Tonner, but I can offer some thoughts on what they did on my 40 Tonner. This truck was a one owner low mileage vehicle when it came to me so I...

A suggestion: When you wire up your fan I would recommend that you consider including a toggle switch somewhere in the circuit to activate the fan in the event that the sensor fails. This happened...

Re: 17 inch split rim replacment
I converted a spare set of the OEM 17" Ford Locking Ring Rims to a set of 16" Radial Rims by having the center section machined out and then machine welded to a 16" Radial Rim. That cost about...
