Re: main seal leak

I don’t think you are reading the answers. You got good info from knowledgeable and experienced guys telling you how to identify where the leak is coming from. No one can say it’s not a bad rear main...

Re: best guesstimate needed on used part-

I think it is indicative of the increasing average age of the people in the hobby.:( Also, new people are coming in who seem not so much interested in restoration as just directly and simply getting...

Re: Roads in the old days Australia

That would take all the fun and adventure out of it. My concern would be more about the environmental damage and possible destruction of wildlife habitat, as well as sacred aboriginal sites.

I’ve had a very good one with a perfect ball for sale for four years at $40 and no interest whatsoever.

Re: Removing the cam on a Model A

I must be missing something here. I donít understand why you donít just remove the head. Itís an easy job and would address the cam removal/valve train conundrum.

Re: The price of a Model A Ford

I don’t expect to make money on my hobbies. They are investments in my spirit, not my retirement.

Re: Stymied

What is the problem? Does 3/4 choke mean 3/4 turn open or 3/4 pulled up? Did it run before you put all new parts in? If so, why did you replace things? If not, what was the problem?

A "stock...

Re: Creating a list for what to do to winterize your A

I drive mine, but put antifreeze in it for the duration. Oregon winters are mostly just rain, not aften very cold compared to other parts of the country. Sometimes I ‘ll trickle charge if it’s a...

Don’t take type fonts too personally. I can’t speak for McM, but there have been and likely still are commenters on the Barn who have difficulty reading online material. I know of at least three...

Re: Proper Operating Temp?

Actually, our water is darn near perfect. Portland is served by the Bull Run reservoir, Mt. Hood snow melt, and if the federal government would just stop applying one size fits all water "refinements...

Crankster, if you are talking about Model A’s, I have to disagree with that. I have owned my 29 Tudor for 60 years and until two years ago ran only water, except in the winter, when I used denatured...
