Re: V8 Transmission adaptation
'39 transmissions are getting more difficult to find, but not impossible... " '39's " have the better case and the better double detent shifter housing and the bigger forks. '39 was also the last...

Re: Best Way to Remove a 30 Coupe Door
Yep. The screws that go into the door hinges through the body are counter sunk. There is no Adjustment to be had by them. Taking them out to remove the door wont hurt a thing. Sometimes door pins are...

Re: AV8 fan
If you run the right mix of parts with your AV8 setup it is possible to run a "stock" belt drive fan. I ran a '46 engine in my '30 coupe I built. I had to run a '36 generator and fan on it though....

Re: chop parts worth anything?
Its an un-chop kit. Keep em. I have a set from a '30-'31 coupe. It will help with a restoration, or to fix a ridiculously chopped car in the future.

I do know that with this conversion you need to use a support ring in the center of the hubs if you desire the use of wire wheels of any sort on the the hydraulic drums, otherwise the wheels will...

Re: Ford Spoke Wheels
More then likely your Hydraulic brake upgrade is from something in the '40-'48 range, some say '39-'48, but i was always under the assumption '39s had Mechanicals still. But thats another debate. ...

Re: 1930 5-Window Coupe Barn Find!
Id also consider making sure your kingpins and bushings aren't too bad, and make sure your steering box isnt sloppy. Kinda scary finding this out after you hit a bump at 35 and the car goes into a...

Re: Phaeton Fit
I have a '31 standard Phaeton. Im admittedly a bigger guy... '5 9" 235 and I fit just fine! The 30-31s as you stated are a bit roomier then the 28-29s.

Re: 1930 5-Window Coupe Barn Find!
Personally I would go through it mechanically and fix the worn out stuff (if there is any) and cosmetically leave it alone! Maybe put the proper 19" wheels and tires on it. Nothing against restored...

Re: 8BA block in a Model A frame

I use the visual method. If you pull #1 spark plug and look carefully (spark plug is above the valves, take a flashlight-aim it toward the back and you will see the piston) for the piston to come to...

Re: Your favorite Model A/AA body style?
It's a tough choice, but I would go for the 30-31 Standard Phaeton in Chicle and Copra. Black wheels and tires, black top. Side mounts are nice; I would mount the spare on the back. I do have a 31...

Re: Fuel
