Extremmly High Oil pressure in a 1952 Ford Flathead all of a sudden?

Would a broken Pressure relief spring cause High oil pressure readings and a knocking sound?

I used the clear plastic electronic replacements [$8.00 --Autozone] for my conversions but I kept a 1157 bulb in the front parklights. If everything is LED, simply wire a small resister or light...
