Re: 32 spring bushings

That torsional effect is lost with the modern plastic/rubber three-piece bushings.

Re: 1932 Ford bumpers original or not

Original small knuckle bumpers do not have a washer inside the curl; no exceptions.

Re: Are these early Roadster repro handles?

If you are thinking in terms of the inside door handles used on '33-34 phaetons and roadsters or as Tom suggests, '32-'34 station wagons, the answer is no, they are not reproductions of those handles...

Re: 32 spring bushings

I use NOS ones (the '33 and up version lined with asbestos), but they are getting to be very scarce, especially the early form with the longer threads and holes for cotter pins.

Re: Woodie Auction today in Auburn, IN

I'd work hard to find room for that '50 Monarch with its less busy front end.

Re: '32 Model B Transmission, thrust washer

It looks like you are trying to install the thrust washer with the thrust washer key in place. That won't work. The washer has to be in place in the groove in the main shaft and then rotated to...

Re: '32 headlight bar

46-13114 headlamp bars for commercial vehicles (pickups and panel deliveries) and big trucks turn up regularly on ebay.

Re: 32 spindle bolts

Pete,

You are badly mistaken, among other things, it is a STOCK restoration forum. Perhaps you were thinking of the HAMB forum.

Re: Japanese parts book,

The Ford facility there at that time was located in Yokohama, not surprisingly on the waterfront with its own pier for unloading it imports.

Re: Q: 34 Ford 3W which REAR window regulator

Dave,

A challenge, yes, but in terms of operation, it's no different than the door windows on '32-'34 pickups and panel deliveries and the quarter windows of '32 Tudor sedans, all of which have...

Re: 32 spindle bolts

If your '32 retains its mechanical brake, hopefully the kit includes the small felt washer that goes beneath the spindle in the gap between it and the ledge on the front brake backing plate that the...

Re: Japanese parts book,

The manufacturing source of the vehicles sold in Japan at that time was the U.S., not Canada, as I stated above in #4.

Re: Japanese parts book,

Right hand drive vehicle production of the period is often thought of in a Canadian export, United Kingdom and Australian context. But, in fact, a significant number of RHD vehicles were built in...

Re: 32 spindle bolts

Pete,

Please look at any period chassis parts catalog and you'll note from the illustrations the order of assembly. Because the spindle bolt is held in place by a tapered locking bolt through...

Re: 32 spindle bolts

Pete,

With respect, on '32-'34 passenger car and commercial vehicles the spindle bearing is above the axle beneath the head of the spindle bolt (B-3115/6) which bears the weight of the front axle,...

Re: 1932 Ford Panel Truck

I believe that Don is correct except that in a '32 with the small gas tank, the passenger side seat would be the same as that in his photos, but not the driver's side seat as that was attached to the...

Re: Q: 34 Ford 3W which REAR window regulator

Not even close to being the same, neither the regulator nor the glass channel. They're common with those components in a five-window coupe, but that's it. The rear window regulator has but a single...

Re: 1932 frame horn covers

I believe that they were a short-lived early version given the apparent scarcity of surviving examples, although they have shown up on both U.S. and European '32s. My favorite, which I believe to be...

Re: 1932 frame horn covers

Not surprisingly, the more I look at the photos courtesy of Uncle Buck, the more that I see that does not ring true. Note the placement of the two holes for the bumper bracket bolts which is unlike...
