Re: Brake knocking
I had a similar problem after I replaced axles on my 41. The drivers side eBrake arm was slightly protruding and rubbing against the ridges inside the brake drum. Took me a while to find until I...

Re: shipping frustration
Lots of shippers are suffering from the reduced amount of domestic and international air travel.
Items that were once subject to air uplift are now being handled by road or rail. This is creating...

Re: headers vs duals
I put a set of Reds on my 41. Fitted nicely, but make sure you know if you have forward control rods (?) or not, as they will be in the way if you order the wrong set.
Red's can supply the entire...

Re: lowering a '41
Get the rear spring reset (and reversed eyes) to the height you want. You can take leafs out of the spring, but I like the stock ride.
A lotta folks will tell you longer shackles will lower the...

Re: Length Limit for Priority Mail Shipping
It's not about the weight it could have carried, but the space it takes up.
In Australia, bulky items are assessed to have a notional density of 250kg/cubic metre. Similar processes in the US.

Re: Length Limit for Priority Mail Shipping
Part of the delay comes from less passenger flights. Less flights to uplift parcels, more via other means (surface).
UPS and Fedex aren't so affected as they run their own airfreight.

Re: Changeing water temp sensor question
I installed an aftermarket oil and temp gauge. What I found was the new temp sender unit was considerably smaller that the stock unit and after the adaptor around it, I'm not sure it even gets wet!

Re: Convex mirror
^^^^Very true.
It's a choice between not seeing things in their correct perspective vs not seeing them at all.

Re: Convex mirror
Ditto. I put them on the 41 so I could see around the car when the top was up (with the small back window).
Nothing will help with the stock mirror location on the passenger side of the 41...

Re: Convex mirror
Convex mirrors are a great idea. I used stick ons that were the same diameter as the side mirrors. Many choices on eBay. They look quite natural. I ran sealant around the edge so that the elements...

Re: '41 - '48 Convertible door garnish
The windscreen centrepiece is a solid structural piece on the convertible (at least on my 41). I understand the closed car has a different molding in the centre.
I recently chromed the moldings...
